Hotel Dona Palace - Venice

4-star boutique hotel in a restored 14th-century palace with a private canal dock, steps from St Mark's Square

Location & Access

Hotel Dona Palace Venice sits on a canal directly facing the Ducal Palace, just a two-minute walk from St Mark's Square. The hotel has its own private dock where water taxis drop off and pick up guests, eliminating the need to haul luggage over bridges. From the dock, guests can step directly into the lobby or onto the terrace overlooking the canal and the Bridge of Sighs.

Rooms & Suites

Each of the hotel's rooms is furnished with custom designer pieces, wood furniture, and carpeted floors, following the original architecture of the 14th-century building. Some rooms feature original filigree windows and direct views of the canal, while suites like the Duchessa Exclusive Suite offer spacious layouts with separate sitting areas. All rooms include air conditioning, a minibar, and an LCD satellite TV, with a private bathroom that includes a hairdryer and toiletries.

Dining & Bar

A daily American breakfast is served in the breakfast room on the second floor, with a wide array of options including fresh pastries, fruit, cheeses, meats, and hot dishes. The on-site lounge bar offers cocktails and drinks, and in summer the adjacent garden terrace becomes an outdoor lounge where guests can sit and watch gondolas pass by. The hotel also provides breakfast in the room for guests who prefer a quieter start, and a coffee house is available on site for quick bites.

Garden & Terrace

Dona Palace has a private secret garden exclusive to hotel guests, located on the ground floor beside the canal dock. This sun terrace is furnished with outdoor furniture and is used for serving drinks in warm weather, offering a quiet retreat away from the busy tourist flow. On the fourth floor, a solarium terrace provides additional outdoor space with views over the rooftops of Venice.

Services & Special Touches

The 24-hour front desk staff are multilingual and can arrange water taxi transfers, restaurant reservations, and walking tours. Hotel Dona Palace offers complimentary drinks for special occasions, such as Bellinis or prosecco with chocolates waiting in the room upon arrival. Additional services include dry cleaning, ironing, babysitting, and a luggage storage room for guests with late departures.
